Prospect Park plans to restore the entrance at Flatbush Avenue and add two new entrances along Flatbush Avenue for pedestrians visiting the park. The restoration project will improve the current entrance and restore it to it’s former glory. It will replace the old concrete and improve the fence around the entrance. The new entrances will further enhance the park’s appearance and make it a welcoming space for families.

The park’s long history started in the 1860’s and the goal was to create a space for the people living in Brooklyn to gather and enjoy throughout the year. The Prospect Park Alliance plans to start with the entrances and eventually re-envision the former Rose Garden and restore the woodlands to further maintain it’s historic charm.
