The No-Horse Cry Scowling Face – Stop Bullying Moms

I recently had to make a reluctant three year old leave the playground. We then, my mistake, walked past one of those mechanical horses where you put in a quarter to ride. Of course he wanted to ride it and of course we had to get home, and I had no quarters. This set off a huge crying jag all the way home in the stroller.

And I’m not a celebrity. Celebrities get it even worse. According to this amazing Marie Claire article , “Kristin Cavallari was told that her children looked too thin after she posted a photo of them in swim trunks.”  I admit I don’t know who Kristin Cavallari is, but I can relate to having skinny kids. It’s just how they are made.

Support Parents, Don’t Bully Moms

We need to support the parents in our communities, not make these snap judgements. I hear this message again and again, but it still isn’t enough. It is also more a mom thing, you don’t see this much with dads. Even the dads I know who are stay-at-home dads still get extra credit for being dads. In any case, next time you see a mom, or dad, with a screaming kid. Smile.
