New Songs for Seeds Location in Williamsburg Has Live Band (Sponsored)

There is a new music class option for parents in Williamsburg, one with a live band!  Molly Pfeifer has opened a Songs for Seeds class where kids newborn to 6 year old rock out with children’s instruments, as well as real drums, guitars, keyboards and instruments from around the world. We asked Molly a few questions about her new classes.

Why did you choose to start a Songs for Seeds location?

What truly drew me to songs for seeds was working with children and families. I’ve always had a passion for working with children and this is a new way for me to do that. I was a teacher for seven years before transitioning to owning Songs for Seeds Williamsburg and wanted more flexibility and ownership in my work. Songs for Seeds is so much more than music, children are engaged all while laying the foundation of early childhood education through musical activities. In each class children will hear music from a different region of the world, be exposed to a variety of rhythm patterns and be given the opportunity and space to experiment with singing and playing real instruments. We reinforce their knowledge of colors and shapes, focus on single digit numbers and practice counting. Additionally, we highlight animal recognition through animated impressions of their sounds and movements.

Tell me about the live band?

My band is unbelievable! They truly take the class to the next level. I chose them based on talent, energy and a general vibe I got during their auditions. Marquis, the lead guitarist, is truly mesmerizing when he performs and makes the experience so personal for each family. Ava (keys) and Austin (drums) already had a connection to songs for seeds, Ava taught at the Connecticut location and Austin’s brother has taught at many locations in the tri-state area. They are both unbelievably talented musicians and have a child friendly and approachable disposition. The entire band’s energy and enthusiasm for the music and for experience of the family is magnetic.

Do you live in Brooklyn?

I have lived in Williamsburg for over three years and in that time I have seen the neighborhood explode with children. Since it is a newer area for families, the class market for children isn’t completely saturated yet. I thought that a high quality music class would be perfect for the little ones of Williamsburg. Songs for seeds is a lot of fun and I’m so excited for the families in Williamsburg to get to experience it!

How do the classes work?

Every family gets to try their first class for FREE. This is a wonderful way to see if the class is a good fit, we then run on a monthly model. The price is $129 per month for 4 classes and 1 make-up, each class is 45 minutes. Even though it is monthly, each family signs up for a specific class so a class community can be built with the children and adults. We are running a special $30 off for the first month for first time families!

Do you do birthdays and events?

YES! Songs for seeds Williamsburg loves to party! Families can book the band (1,2 or 3 pieces) for a 30 or 45 minute set for a birthday, concert or party of any kind. Email for pricing details.
