Three Local Farms You Can’t Miss

Muscoot Farm in Katonah is not too far from home but worlds away from the life of your 21st-century child. Muscoot Farm will transform your family to a typical Westchester farm from around the 1880s to the 1930s. With over 50 animals, plenty of informative workshops, and miles of hiking trails to explore, Muscoot Farms is a fantastic day out. Sprout Creek Farm in Poughkeepsie is a non-profit working creamery and farm with a goal of educating the public on traditional Alpine-style cheese making. Besides offering an amazing assortment of cow and goat milk cheeses to sample and buy, the farm boasts plenty of chances for little ones to interact with cows, goats, pigs chickens, and ducks. Do you want to give your kids memories for a lifetime? Sprout Creek Farm offers day and overnight camp for kids from 5 to 16 years old. The farm is open every day from 10 am to 5 pm.

Weed Orchards & Winery in Marlboro offers a little something special for the adults as well as the kids. With over 40 acres dedicated to pick-your-own fruit and vegetables you can spend the afternoon among the trees and in the fields filling your baskets and then recharge at the farm-to-table cafe which serves up artisan pizza alongside site-made hard ciders and wines.
