The Paper Bag Players: Here We Go at The Kumble Theater (Downtown Brooklyn)
Monday March 9th 10a & 12n. Ticket: $8. America’s longest-running theater for children, The Paper Bag Players’ latest show HERE WE GO! is a rollicking hour of new and classic sketches perfect for children Pre-K to 3rd Grade, featuring hilarious stories, lovable characters, original music, on-stage painting, and signature paper and cardboard sets and costumes. Cowboys and cowgirls gallop onto the stage singing and dancing a wild Western welcome, Howdy! A chair with a mind of its own refuses to be sat upon. A group of trees, with a little help from the audience and their very own angel, discover how to outsmart a woodchopper. In The First Day of School, three children of very different temperaments sing their feelings about the start of a new school year. With vivid paint and lively song, Zymillaquixar, brings us straight out of the galaxy to an undiscovered planet where our astronauts meet a sweet little alien with a sense of humor. These are just a few of the playful flights of imagination in this joyous journey. HERE WE GO! will have the whole audience joining in: cheering, laughing, singing, up on their feet and dancing!
Opening Day: Discover the Nature of Color at American Museum of Natural History (UWS)
Opening Monday March 9th 10a-545p and ongoing daily 10a-545p until August 2021 (except Thanksgiving & Christmast). Timed entry only. LeFrak Family Gallery, fourth floor. Included with Museum admission. Our world is awash in color. Color makes the world feel vibrant and alive. But that’s not all. Color helps us make sense of the world. It contains vast amounts of information—about the natural world, and the human world. Come and explore the world of color in this immersive and interactive exhibition. Little Bandits with Ellen and Andrew at Brooklyn Brainery (Prospect Heights)
Tuesdays 10-1045a until March 24th. $25/class. For ages 6 mo – 5 yrs. Little Bandits is a weekly music class for toddlers in Brooklyn, New York, created by Jeanna Phillips and Alex Thrailkill to introduce young children to the joy of creating music together.
Stomp, Clap & Sing with Rolie Polie Guacamole at Central Brooklyn Public Library
Tuesday March 10th 11a-12n. Free. Location: Dweck Center. Brooklyn’s kindie titans Rolie Polie Guacamole, have been perfecting their show over the last decade scooping up several Parents’ Choice awards along the way. Their shows incorporate fun, fresh and smart lyrics in a style appealing to kids and adults alike. They encourage the audience to get up and moving with a high energy show that will rock your guac off!
PURIM at Chabad of DUMBO
Tuesday March 10th 4p. Location: 53 Bridge Street 8th floor. Suggested donation $20 per family. Children’s costume party! Everyone who comes in costume will receive a prize! Enjoy face painting, Door prizes, Delicious Purim Food, face painting, an interactive Megillah reading and an amazing Magic show with Critically Acclaimed Magician Matt Cadabra straight from the hit show America’s Got Talent! Wednesday March 11th
Little Feet Yoga at Yogis & Yoginis (Park Slope)
Wednesdays 1015-1115a until July 1st. $20/class. Ages 2 – 5 yrs (adult participation required). Little bodies love to move and learn about the world around them! This class is a great introduction to the world of yoga geared for kids moving in the world. We’ll read books and integrate yoga poses, sing songs, play games, learn the magic of sound and quiet, develop the art of savasana or rest pose and plant the seeds of mindfulness in little bodies and minds! So much to learn and explore- join us!
Music and Storytime with Mandarin Seeds at Chatham Square NY Public Library
Wednesdays 11a in March. Free. Recommended for children ages 2-5 years old with parent/caregiver. This is a three-week Bilingual Storytime through Mandarin Seeds (芽芽華語). Children learn all about different topics in Mandarin Chinese through stories, art projects, and puppets. Families dance while singing Mandarin Seeds’ original songs. We make storytime fun! Week 1: fruits, week 2: animals & week 3: insects.
Spanish for Babies and Toddlers at Sprout San Francisco
Wednesdays 4-445p until April 8th. $15/class. Ages 6 mo – 3 yrs (adult participation required). Toc Toc Spanish is a fun mix of story time, sing-along, dancing, games and puppet show. It’s the perfect opportunity to expose your little one to a second language right when the “language learning window” opens. Don’t worry if you are not a Spanish speaker, parents and caregivers can even learn Spanish with their child!

Transit Tots-Women in Transit at NY Transit Museum (Downtown Brooklyn)
Thursdays 1015-1115a in March. Free with Museum admission. For ages 2-5 and accompanying adults. Join each week for transit-themed stories and hands-on activities for the youngest transportation fans.
Storytime with the Brooklyn Public Library at Ed Center (DUMBO)
2nd Thursday of the month starting March 12th until August 13th at 4p. Free. Brand new in 2020, join us for a storytime presented by the Brooklyn Public Library! Babies, toddlers, and pre-schoolers ages 0-5 and their caregivers are invited to develop early literacy skills and learn about a monthly theme through play, songs, rhymes, and stories. The theme for March is Woodlands. This program takes place during Education Center Open Hours, 99 Plymouth Street.
Green Series: Make Seed Sculptures with Artist Mary Mattingly at Leonard Brooklyn Public Library
Thursday March 12th 4-5p. Free. Participants will make their own seed sculptures with seeds from plants that aid in water purification while learning about water remediation techniques. We’ll combine seeds, clay,and healthy compost – these sculptures are perfect for tossing anywhere outdoors! This program is held in partnership with More Art.

Ed Center in Brooklyn Bridge Park
Tuesdays & Thursdays 3-5p and also Saturdays and Sundays from 1–5p. Location: Pier 1. Free. The Ed Center is open for free, drop-in hours three afternoons a week! Get to know Brooklyn Bridge Park with our 250 gallon aquarium filled with critters from the East River, a 10’ scale model of Brooklyn Bridge Park, crafts, a reading corner, and much more!
The Industry City Ice Rink (Sunset Park)
Wednesdays-Thursdays 4-8p, Fridays 11a-8p, Saturdays 10a-8p and Sundays 10a-5p. Tickets will be $10 for adults and $6 for kids 12 and under, with skate rentals costing $9. Tickets can be purchased on site at IC Ice Rink in courtyard 5/6. The Industry City Ice Rink opens November 30 and welcomes guests to join for an iconic winter experience every Wednesday to Sunday with ice skating theme parties on Fridays + Saturdays. The rink is outside and uncovered, so dress appropriately for an enjoyable and comfortable skate. If you come at a popular time and there’s a line, there are plenty of other activities to fill your time while you wait. Playdate & Mingle Time at Edamama Cute Cuts & More (Williamsburg)
Daily 130-3p. Cash only: $15 per munchkin. Sibling is $25 (two children). Adults are free! Spots are available on a first come, first serve basis. Invite your friends. While munchkins are rolling around and socializing you can take a breather with your friends! Our space is the most children and family friendly hang out space in the hood. Play dates are an informal and unstructured social events for munchkins 0 to 3 yrs old and their tribe.
Drop-in Storytimes at Stories Bookshop + Storytelling Lab (Park Slope)
Mondays 1130a, 1230p & 3p, Tuesdays 1030a, Wednesdays 1130a & 1230p, Thursdays 1030a & 1130a & Fridays 1130a & 1230p. No sign-up or registration is needed for Storytimes. Survival: The Exhibition at NY Hall of Science
Daily until September 13th. Hours: Monday – Friday, 930a-5p, Saturday & Sunday, 10a-6p. $7 per person, plus NYSCI admission. Free for Members. Become the ultimate survival expert. Test your survival skills. Learn how to build shelter in the forest, find water in the desert, stay warm in the extreme cold. Plus, learn water safety and emergency preparations. Survival culminates in the Adventure Zone Ropes Course and Zip Line, where visitors’ confidence and problem-solving skills are put to the test.
