Updated List of Weekday Virtual Events to Enjoy with the Kids

Hi everyone!  I hope Passover and Easter were fun with the family and you are doing ok.


This week you can enjoy virtual events like Musical Yoga Storytime, Toc Toc Spanish, Online “Dear Zoo” Kids Yoga Class, African Dancing and Folktales,“Fiesta with Flor”, Virtual Chess Workshop, Lunch Doodles with Mo Willems, Musikgarten: Family Music Class, PJ Library Digital Resources, Cuentos virtuales para niños en español (Virtual Spanish Storytime) and Chris’s Online Music Class.

Monday April 13th

Online “Fiesta with Flor”
Mondays & Fridays 11a. Acclaimed children’s singer and puppeteer Flor Bromley presents free “Fiesta with Flor” Spanish musical adventure programs for preschool and kindergarten age children live-streamed every Monday and Friday at 11:00 a.m. EDT on Flor’s Facebook page, HERE.

BPL: Virtual Chess Workshop
Monday April 13th 4-5p. Free. Kids and teens, learn to play or improve your game, with instructor Reinaldo Duran from 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm. For beginners or advanced players. Please register for information on how and where to participate! Register here.

Tuesday April 14th

Chris’s Online Music Class
Tuesdays 12n-1235p until April 28th. $15/class. For ages 3-5y. (adult participation required). Join link and activity access information will be sent by email. Register here. Join Mr. Chris and his guitar for some soulful renditions of your favorite children’s songs using claves, shakers, and anything else that makes beautiful noise. Musical fun and education for the whole family to enjoy. All you need is a child (and your inner-child)! Notes: This class is generally for 3-5 year olds but if you have younger ones you would like to join in they will need guidance through the musical activities.

BPL: African Dancing and Folktales
Tuesday April 14th 4-5p. Free. Audience members become the storytellers in a series of African folktales as our facilitator guides them through an interactive African Dance class. Accompanied by live percussion music. View the broadcast on the Urban Stages Facebook page at 4p.

Wednesday April 15th

LIVE Online Musikgarten: Family Music Class
Wednesdays 930-1015a until June 3rd. $15/class. Ages 0 mo – 3 yrs (adult participation required). Have fun making music with your little one. No instruments required! Notes: Thank you for registering! Each week, you will receive an pre-recorded unlisted YouTube link to class. We’ve designed class to have a live and interactive vibe to it, so it will feel like your instructor is right there with you. Cuentos virtuales para niños en español (Virtual Spanish Storytime)
Wednesdays & Mondays 2-230p  until April 29th. Free. Acompáñenos con cuentos y canciones en español para niños y sus padres o cuidadores en la página Brooklyn Public Library Family Facebook. (Join us for stories and songs in Spanish for children and their parents or caregivers on the Brooklyn Public Library Family Facebook page). Edades 0-5 (Ages 0-5)

Thursday April 16th

BPL: Musical Yoga Storytime
Thursdays 10-1030a until April 30th. Free. Join us for a storytime for toddlers incorporating live music and yoga! View the broadcast on the Brooklyn Public Library Facebook page at 10a.

FREE Online “Dear Zoo” Kids Yoga Class Ages 2-5
Thursdays 10-1030a. Free. For ages 2-5y. This is a kids yoga class based on the popular children’s book “Dear Zoo” by Rod Cambell. We go on an adventure to the zoo while practicing asana, breathing, and mindfulness. This class is most appropriate for kids 2-5 years old. This is a FREE activity, and donations are graciously accepted. If you cannot donate, please watch the videos anyways. They are here to help us all. Brooklyn Public Library Vitural Storytimes
Daily usually at 11a & 2p. Free. Sometimes the storytimes are on the Brooklyn Public Library Family facebook page and othertimes they are on a specific branch facebook page. See the website for all the details.

Toc Toc Spanish Free Live Streaming: Spanish for 2-5 year olds
Mondays-Saturdays 11-1135a until June 27th. Free. With people in 21 countries and 3 continents speaking Spanish, learning this language is one of the most useful tools you can give to your children. Either for traveling, studying abroad, enriching their mind and expand the way they learn. Once children learn Spanish, they will find it easier to understand other Latin based languages. Bilingual Birdies Zoom Classes
Wednesdays 11 (Mandarin), Thursdays 11a (Spanish), Fridays 11a (French). Pricing: Weekly: $15 per week of unlimited access to classes, Monthly: $40 per month of unlimited access to classes, Semester: $120 for an entire four months of unlimited access to classes. Live Berkner Break
Most weekdays at 10a. Laurie be live at 10am most weekdays for singing, stories, moving our bodies, and more. She’ll also be picking some charities that you can donate to if you are able. See the website for all the info.

LUNCH DOODLES with Mo Willems!
Daily at 1p. Free. Mo Willems invites YOU into his studio every day for his LUNCH DOODLE. Learners worldwide can draw, doodle and explore new ways of writing by visiting Mo’s studio virtually once a day for the next few weeks. Grab some paper and pencils, pens, or crayons and join Mo to explore ways of writing and making together. If you post your art to social media, be sure to hashtag it with #MoLunchDoodles! New episodes will be posted each weekday at 1:00 p.m. ET and then remain online to be streamed afterwards. Check website here. Interactive Live Songwriting Streams with Mil’s Trills
Daily at 230p EST on this page. Amelia will post a link and/or you can scroll around til you find the “live” tab. Plus, I’ll be sharing some new songs that can help understand and accept these rollercoaster feelings, and find a way to soothe our bodies and meditate.

Children’s Museum of Manhattan at Home
Activities in a daily email newsletter. Free. While the Museum is closed, our CMOM educators are still working to fill your child’s day with engaging interactive activity. CMOM can still be a part of your day through videos, sing-a-longs, games and so much more for you to do together with your family at home! From slime-making, dance parties and being transported to Japan with a recipe for sushi, to making animal puppets from recycled materials around the house, creating a bedtime routine and storytimes, “CMOM at Home” is sure to delight.
