Hi everyone!  April showers are continuing again this week which is great to keep us safe at home and there are so many fun events to enjoy inside.

Monday April 27th

AudraRox Music Classes
Mondays & Wednesdays at 10a & 530p. Costs: Online classes are $15 per class / $10 four or more. Sign up: Come share in the fun at Music for Aardvarks classes! ¡Bienvenidos! On-Line Spanish Sing-along with Lucy Kalantari!

Tuesday April 28th

Family Singalong online with Kyle Tigges
Tuesdays 1030a until May 26th. Tuesday morning music with Kyle Tigges at 10:30am to support Jalopy Theatre and School of Music. $10 suggested donation to support the Jalopy Theatre. Click here  at 1030a for access.

BPL: Stomp, Clap, & Sing with Esther Crow
Tuesday April 28th 11a-12n. Free. Esther Crow is an award-winning singer, songwriter and teacher. Her online show experience is an eclectic mix of original acoustic guitar songs, and backing tracks of Thunder & Sunshine songs (a rock band she founded in 2017), which she sings both independently, and as duets with her handmade felt puppets (created by Jeff Lewonczyk). Each of her puppets have big personalities and dance moves of their own; like Bernie the Bee who loves to eat anchovies and dance to the sound of a kazoo. She weaves comedy and kindness into each show, while encouraging kids to shake instruments and move their bodies. View the broadcast on the Esther Crow Instagram page at 11 AM.

Wednesday April 29th

Hannah from The Buttons Online Sing-along
Wednesdays 11a, Thursdays 330p & Sundays 11a. $10/household donation. Online sing-alongs accessible through Facebook and Instagram live. Grab your shakers, your drums, your scarves, whatever you might want to rock n’ roll with, and join me for some singing and dancing from our separate homes! Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts: SUDS
Wednesday April 29th 4p. Free. SUDS is an immersive, multisensory, theatrical experience that takes the seemingly mundane task of going to the laundromat and transforms it into an exhilarating adventure filled with water, soap, and bubbles. This Bluelaces Theater Company production is specially created for children with autism and other developmental disabilities. As part of the #ConcertsForKids series, at-home audiences will meet the composer, props designer, and two cast members as they guide you on your very own mini-laundry exploration, complete with multiple songs and many suds! Thursday April 30th

Brooklyn Beanstalk: “Tiempo de Cuentos,” Bilingual Spanish Story Time With Laura
Thursday April 30th 9-930a. Free. Ages 2 – 3 yrs (adult participation required). Join our long term resident Beanstalk teaching artist Laura for a bilingual story time in Spanish. Together we will create a magic space to grow. Through story and song, we will use our imagination and creativity to ignite our hearts and minds. Register here. Urban Stages: Virtual Exploring French through Song and Story
Thursday April 30th 11a-12n. Free. It’s story time, in French! Join Ms. Corinne as we explore French versions of some of our favorite nursery rhymes with a bit of music and movement, followed by a story! Friday May 1st

Virtual Storytime: Home Sweet Home with Mount Vernon Hotel Museum & Garden
Friday May 1st 1130a-12n. Free. Join us for a virtual museum storytime. We will read picture books about what makes a home for both people and animals. We will also play an online game to find animals in the Museum building when it was a barn over 200 years ago. Everyone welcome, but designed especially for children 6 and under. Brooklyn Public Library Lab: Cupcake Experiment
Friday May 1st 330-4p. Free. Join Rebecca on the Brooklyn Public Library Family Facebook page at 330p for a delicious cupcake experiment called, “I like what I see!”. How do your five senses, specifically sight, work together to help you determine your food preferences? Can our eyesight trick our tastebuds? If you’d like to join along with this experiment, you’ll need to make sure your adult can assist you with baking in an oven, and these items on the website.

The Hopalong Andrew Show
Tuesdays, Thursday & Saturday 11a. $10 Suggested Minimum. Back in the saddle on Tuesday, April 21!!! Thanks for your love and patience! This is the first time I’ve ever tried something like this… a retro-tinged, 1-man variety show from my apartment. Toc Toc Spanish Free Live Streaming: Spanish for 2-5 year olds
Mondays-Saturdays 11-1135a until June 27th. Free. With people in 21 countries and 3 continents speaking Spanish, learning this language is one of the most useful tools you can give to your children. Either for traveling, studying abroad, enriching their mind and expand the way they learn. Once children learn Spanish, they will find it easier to understand other Latin based languages. Tuesdays 5p (Spanish), Wednesdays 11 (Mandarin), Thursdays 11a (Spanish), Fridays 11a (French). Virtual Classroom with Lavender Music
Mondays – Thursdays at 1030a and Wednesdays 1230p & Thursday at 4p until June 4th. $12/class. A virtual music and movement class for babies and toddlers. Join us as we sing and play for 40 minutes through music and movement with traditional nursery rhymes as well as our own. Grab your instrument, a stuffy and a blanket to use as a parachute! Mondays 10a & Mondays-Fridays 6p and Saturdays 10a. All shows are free and will continue until this crisis ends and we can return to our normal routines. Children’s Museum of Manhattan at Home
Activities in a daily email newsletter. Free. While the Museum is closed, our CMOM educators are still working to fill your child’s day with engaging interactive activity. CMOM can still be a part of your day through videos, sing-a-longs, games and so much more for you to do together with your family at home! From slime-making, dance parties and being transported to Japan with a recipe for sushi, to making animal puppets from recycled materials around the house, creating a bedtime routine and storytimes, “CMOM at Home” is sure to delight.
