Monday May 25th

Intrepid Museum Virtual Memorial Day Commemoration
Monday May 25th 2p. Free. The Intrepid Museum will present its annual Memorial Day commemoration through a virtual ceremony that invites the public to join the Museum in honoring the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the United States Armed Forces. The commemoration will conclude with the playing of Taps from the flight deck of Intrepid by Sgt Dennis Vanterpool, a bugler from the Marine Corps 6thCommunication Battalion, followed by a special performance of the National March by the United States Navy Band. ​ View the live stream here.

Storytime With Captain Jack: Manic Monday
Monday May 25th 7-745p. Free. Watch Captain Jack teach proper hand washing techniques, sing, teach pirate words that begin with V, teach how to make a miniature treasure chest, reads the book Backbeard: Pirate for Hire, and have a puppet read A Captain’s Quandary, a pirate themed book on the staying safe during the Covid-19 crisis written by Captain Jack himself. Tuesday May 26th

Stomp, Clap, and Sing with Joelle Lurie
Tuesday May 26th 11a-12n. Free. Join jazz vocalist Joelle Lurie, of her kids focused band, Jojo & The Pinecones, for a digital set of upbeat standards and originals to be enjoyed by all ages. She’s brought her music to family audiences at Lincoln Center, BAM, Lollapalooza, Madison Sq. Park, Brooklyn Children’s Museum, Wolftrap, Regattabar and more. little Lola & tots: Travel Con Lola Read-Aloud
Tuesdays 11a until June 2nd. $10/class. Ages 1.5 – 5 yrs (adult participation required). Just because we have to stay in, doesn’t mean we can’t travel in our imagination. Join Ms. Natalie as we explore different culturas around the world through our FAVORITE pastime, Reading! Musica y actividades will vary from week to week. Wednesday May 27th

Hip Hop with Emily – music from Disney’s Best HITS!!
Wednesdays 1115-1145a until July 15th. For ages 3-4y. $18/class. Got a kid who wants to learn to dance? Emily teaches small group dance lessons (6 children max) that you can take from the comfort of your home! Kids will gain skills in creative movement, strength, and coordination while learning basic steps, jumps, turns and even a simple dance routine each week! Register here.

Living History @ Home: Talking at the Tavern
Wednesday May 27th 1-2p. Free. For all ages. Meet us at the Three Tun Tavern! In the 18th century, taverns served as restaurants, hotels, bars, ballrooms, and all-around social hubs where people met to talk, gossip, and share news. Take a virtual field trip back in time to visit one in Philadelphia on the eve of the Revolutionary War with our Living History coordinator Cheyney McKnight and friends from the Museum of the American Revolution. Listen in on their conversation and then join in yourself to ask questions and learn the juiciest bits of 18th-century news. Thursday May 28th

Karma Kids: ZOOM Kids Yoga (2-5 yrs)
Thursdays 10-1045a. $10/class. Karma Kids Yoga ZOOM Kids Yoga (2-5 yrs) with Shari Vilchez-Blatt. You must register below at least 1 hour prior to class. Be sure to download the zoom app at zoom.us. You will receive an invite email with the class code and link approximately 45 minutes before the class. A few minutes before class, click on the meeting invite and wait for your teacher to start! The Second City Presents The Really Awesome Improv Show
Thursdays 2p EST (11a PST). This family friendly, high energy improv show, is fun for all ages, and relies on audience suggestions and participation, very “Whose Line is it Anyway,” but 100% family friendly. This performance is free, but donations will be accepted to The Second City Alumni Fund, a resource for performers and other members of The Second City community experiencing critical health and financial challenges. Friday May 29th

KidsFilmFest 2020
Friday May 29th and daily until Sunday June 7th. KidsFilmFest is an initiative of the Brooklyn Film Festival. This year KidsFilmFest presents two programs of films tailored for two groups of young viewers: 3 to 7 & 8 to 12. The 16th KFF film programs will be staged completely online via the BFF website…right on this page! All the films will be available around the clock from May 29 through June 7. KFF aims to discover and promote children’s filmmakers as well as expose filmmakers of all ages who make films for younger crowds. All films are rated “G”. Both programs consist of several animated shorts, live-action films, and documentaries. See all the film festival details here.

Urbans Stages: Spanish Song and Story Time
Friday May 29th 10-11a. Free. Time to dive into the Spanish language! Through songs, dancing, body percussion, and fun cultural facts, our facilitator will introduce new Spanish words and phrases. Daily usually at 11a & 2p. Free. Sometimes the storytimes are on the Brooklyn Public Library Family facebook page and othertimes they are on a specific branch facebook page. See the website for all the details.

Creatively Wild Art Studio: Virtual Playtime for Toddlers with DM & BLU
Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays or Fridays 10-1045a until May 29th (none Monday May 25th). $20/class. Suitable for Toddlers ages 22 months- 3.5 yrs. Brought to you in the comfort of your own home, our fun online playtime class hosted by DM (our creative director /owner) will include an awesome art project, a story & a sing-song! Mondays 10a & Mondays-Fridays 6p and Saturdays 10a. All shows are free and will continue until this crisis ends and we can return to our normal routines. Children’s Museum of Manhattan at Home
Activities in a daily email newsletter. Free. While the Museum is closed, our CMOM educators are still working to fill your child’s day with engaging interactive activity. CMOM can still be a part of your day through videos, sing-a-longs, games and so much more for you to do together with your family at home! From slime-making, dance parties and being transported to Japan with a recipe for sushi, to making animal puppets from recycled materials around the house, creating a bedtime routine and storytimes, “CMOM at Home” is sure to delight.
