NYC based singer-songwriter Joanie Leeds has won 1st place in the USA Songwriting Competition, an Independent Music Award, a Gold Parents’ Choice Award, NAPPA Gold Award, Family Choice Award and is a John Lennon Songwriting Award Finalist and an International Songwriting Competition Finalist. Hudson River Park’s Hudson RiverKids
Mondays 4p until August 31st. Free. Hudson RiverKids brings together learning activities and family friendly entertainment all summer long! This year Hudson River Park is bringing our programming to you, wherever that is this summer season. The Park community might be apart, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t join in the fun! With a multitude of programs and performances all made with kids especially in mind, virtual Hudson RiverKids is fun for the whole family. Come join us – we take play seriously! Glowtime melds movement and mindfulness, it’s designed to get your kid practicing gratitude and grooving. Music With Emily: Family Sing-A-Long
Tuesday June 23rd 11-1145a. Free. Emily will get your children up and moving along to familiar songs and originals that will engage and entice them to sing along, clap along, jump along and just have fun! Bring any instruments to shake and play and feel free to type in song requests during the show that Emily might be able to add to the program live. Emily will have her backpack filled with surprises to help lead the show. With live guitar, banjo, ukulele and more, children always enjoy Emily’s high energy and playful vibe in this very interactive show. This program is perfect for ages 0 – 8. You can even have a Facebook watch party with your child’s friends! This program will be live from her Facebook page Music With Emily at 11a.

Jumpin’ Jams: Summer Online Music Class
Wednesdays-Fridays 945-1030a until August 14th. $17/drop in class. For ages 3m-6y. This is a LIVE online, interactive version of our hoppin’ music classes! You can login thru Zoom (we’ll send you the link, once registered) and join the fun! We will go on a musical train ride, get down and boogie, and check out different instruments while jamming along with fun, age appropriate music. Many of the movement based songs are designed to reinforce early language development and an understanding of the world around them. Come jam with us! From the Statue of Liberty to the Barrio: A Musical Tour of NYC
Wednesday June 24th 10-11a. Free. Join musician Sofia Tosello on a multicultural musical tour of our very own NYC! Learn songs and stories from New York’s many immigrant and diasporic communities, starting with Ella on the A train and ending with a comparsa in the barrio. We will use songs, maps, puppets, and hands-on instruments in our journey through New York. A fun musical adventure for all ages! Join us on Facebook at 10am.

Freshkills Park Virtual Discovery Week @ Home: STEAM Education
Thursday June 25th 10a-7p. Free. The landfill-to-park transformation is an exciting platform for education. Each day, we witness how ecology, engineering, design, history and social sciences interact to solve 21st century challenges. Take a STEAM Challenge with Freshkills Park! These challenges use only recycled and basic materials you have at home and will teach you more about the environment at Freshkills Park. Download environmental puzzles, activity, and coloring sheet printables for off screen enjoyment. We all love parks, but where do parks come from? Learn all about how parks are created by registering your 8-12 year olds for our ‘Be a Park Planner’ virtual Field Trip. Younger kids, from 6 -8, can learn all about wetlands by participating in our ‘All about Wetlands’ virtual Field Trip to Freshkills Park. See website for the schedule of events on Thursday. Summer on the Hudson: Musical Storytime Online!
Thursday June 25th 1030-1115a (last one). Free. Moosiki Kids Musical Storytime fosters a love of reading at a young age with stories and sing along for kids 5 and under. The FunikiJam Show! with Captain Jam
Fridays 1030-11a until September 11th. For ages 2-9y. Free. Last year, he was touring the world with his own original musicals and starring in a TV show for China, but now you can join Captain Jam (FunikiJam creator, Brian Barrentine) from your very own home to have FUN, JAM, and learn about the WORLD! Each show challenges kids to use musical tools and imagination to complete the day’s Special Mission as they “…sing some songs, learn new words, and move to the music with Captain Jam!” Note: We will send you a Zoom link and password 30 minutes before the event. Sing-a-long with Folktales from Around the World
Friday June 26th 10-11a. Free. Last year, Jono Waldman was performing in a national tour of a musical he wrote, but now he’s stuck in his living room just like you! Creatively Wild Art Studio: Creative Playtime for Toddlers with DM & BLU
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 9-945a until August 31st. $20/class (class packages also available). Suitable for Toddlers ages 22 months- 3.5 yrs. Our fun, engaging summer online playtime class for Toddlers is hosted by our very own DM (our creative director /owner) and will include an awesome art project, a story & a sing-song! Children’s Museum of Manhattan at Home
Activities in a daily email newsletter. Free. While the Museum is closed, our CMOM educators are still working to fill your child’s day with engaging interactive activity.
