A Live Berkner Break with Laurie Berkner!
Mondays & Fridays 11a until July 31st.  Free. Laurie Berkner is doing daily Facebook lives during the COVID-19 school and community closures. Sing, dance, read, and play along most weekdays on FB Live!

Summer Reading: Funkytown Playground YOGA
Monday July 27th 11a. Free. Follow along as Aly Sunshine leads a fun and family-friendly introduction to yoga. You’ll get to warm up, practice breathing and poses, and relax into a power down. View the broadcast on Facebook Live at 11a.

Tuesday July 28th

Queens Public Library: Origami Club
Tuesdays 11-1145a until August 18th. Free. In this series for ages 6-10 with Ms. Shiu-hwa Tsai, children’s librarian at Flushing Library, we’ll start with easy paper folding and build up to more challenging models. Bring paper! Have fun while developing hand-eye coordination, sequencing skills, and spatial reasoning. Email FlushingYouth@queenslibrary.org; Subject: Origami, to register.

Summer Reading: Yo-Yo Mania!
Tuesday July 28th 2-3p. Free. Part workshop, part performance, Artist Brian Klimowski shows you the basics of yo-yo so you can put on your very own yo-yo show in your home! Stick around to the end to be wowed by the amazing string tricks he has mastered over the years! The show is best enjoyed if have your own yo-yo during the show. Quick find a yo-yo! Wednesday July 29th

Bilingual Birdies Online Class in Mandarin
Wednesday July 29th 10-1030a. Experience the online bilingual magic with live music, a bubble dance party and entertaining puppet show! In this 30-minute online class, families will enjoy the same lively fun from in-person classes with Myla Birdie and an outstanding bilingual teaching musician! Kids are encouraged to move, jump, sing, and dance along with their piano-playing teacher as they increase their vocabulary in Mandarin! ” Register for the Zoom broadcast here. A link to access the Zoom meeting will be sent to registrants prior to the performance.

FunikiJam’s Storytime Sing-Along with Captain Jam
Wednesdays 1030-11a until September 9th. Free. For ages 1-4y. Join link here and activity access information will be sent by email. Last year, he was touring the world with his own original musicals and starring in a TV show for China, but now you can join Captain Jam (FunikiJam creator, Brian Barrentine) from your very own home to have FUN, JAM, and learn about the WORLD! Each show challenges kids to use musical tools and imagination to complete the day’s Special Mission as they “…sing some songs, learn new words, and move to the music with Captain Jam!”

Summer Reading: Lucy Kalantari & the Jazz Cats
Thursday July 30th 11a-12n. Free. Multi-award winning children’s artist, Lucy Kalantari, brings delightful jazz age inspired music everyone can enjoy! NYPL: The Art Farm- Earth’s Helpers
Thursday July 30th 11a. Free. Don’t Say Yuck or Ewww! Just say “Thank You!” In this program, we will solve riddles to discover the most awesome creatures that are helping our planet! Meet several LIVE animal superstars including a hermit crab, rabbit and salamander and learn how these small animals play a huge role in nature. Find out some simple ways to be kind to all types of animals in your neighborhood and around the world. The program will be held virtually here.

Friday July 31st

Children’s Museum of the Arts: Music Time with Tom

Brooklyn Public Library Vitural Storytimes
Daily usually at 11a & 2p. Free. Sometimes the storytimes are on the Brooklyn Public Library Family facebook page and othertimes they are on a specific branch facebook page. See the website for all the details.

Creatively Wild Art Studio: Creative Playtime for Toddlers with DM & BLU
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 9-945a until August 31st. $20/class (class packages also available). Suitable for Toddlers ages 22 months- 3.5 yrs. Our fun, engaging summer online playtime class for Toddlers is hosted by our very own DM (our creative director /owner) and will include an awesome art project, a story & a sing-song! Brought to you in the comfort of your own home during these challenging times. This is a 45 minute immersive adventure & the perfect way to keep your tiny one engaged & inspired. Art nurtures each child’s development and helps them make creative choices, gain confidence, develop fine motor skills. Free Bike Mornings on Governors Island
Mondays-Fridays 10a-12n. Free. Blazing Saddles offers bikes, surreys, pedal cars, scooters and more for rental. Free Bike Mornings allow visitors to borrow a bike from Blazing Saddles for free for up to one hour every weekday between 10 AM and noon. Come visit Blazing Saddles at the north end of Colonels Row and bike the Island! This year you need a reservation for the ferry. See the website for all the details.

The Hopalong Andrew Show
Tuesdays and Thursdays 10a until August 27th. $10 Suggested Minimum. Back in the saddle! This is the first time I’ve ever tried something like this… a retro-tinged, 1-man variety show from my apartment. Tuesdays 5p (Spanish), Wednesdays 11 (Mandarin), Thursdays 11a (Spanish), Fridays 11a (French). Jumpin’ Jams: Summer Online Music Class
Wednesdays-Fridays 945-1030a until August 14th. $17/drop in class. For ages 3m-6y. This is a LIVE online, interactive version of our hoppin’ music classes! You can login thru Zoom (we’ll send you the link, once registered) and join the fun! We will go on a musical train ride, get down and boogie, and check out different instruments while jamming along with fun, age appropriate music. Many of the movement based songs are designed to reinforce early language development and an understanding of the world around them. Come jam with us! Children’s Museum of Manhattan at Home
Activities in a daily email newsletter. Free. While the Museum is closed, our CMOM educators are still working to fill your child’s day with engaging interactive activity. CMOM can still be a part of your day through videos, sing-a-longs, games and so much more for you to do together with your family at home! Sign up for emails here (go all the way down the page on the right hand side for email sign up). From slime-making, dance parties and being transported to Japan with a recipe for sushi, to making animal puppets from recycled materials around the house, creating a bedtime routine and storytimes, “CMOM at Home” is sure to delight. Each day of the week will feature a different theme: Magical Monday, Move & Grove Tuesday, Our World Wednesday, Artsy Thursday, Feel Good Friday, Storytime Saturday and Surprise Sunday.
