Journey to the Himalayas! with Jacques Marchais Museum of Tibetan Art
Friday November 13th 10-11a. Free. RSVP here. This program is intended for children aged 5-12 years old. Join us for an introduction to the people of Tibet & the Himalayan region, learn about their culture and their way of life!
“Berkner Break” Concerts
Friday November 13th 11a. Free. “Berkner Break” Concerts with special themes, special guests and virtual birthday parties too! Concerts will be on Laurie’s Facebook page here and her Instagram page here. The theme 11/13 is Fan-Tastic Friday. There will be additional “Berkner Break” Concerts Monday-Friday November 16th-20th & December 4th at 11a.
NYPL: Thanksgiving Illustration Storytime
Friday November 13th 3-4p. Free. Join the Tremont Staff for a short read aloud on Thanksgiving Turkey. Followed by activity (How to draw a hand Turkey). With a step by step tutorial that will be given to follow. The only supplies needed is your hand , paper and pencil. Both the parent /caregiver and child must be present during this program. Garden Tour with “Wildman” Steve Brill at Old Stone House (Park Slope)
Saturday November 14th 9-11a. Suggested donation: $20 for adults, $10 for kids under 12. Space is limited, reserve your spot online here! Join foraging expert and tour guide “Wildman” Steve Brill for a morning stroll in the OSH gardens- learn all about foraging and the edible herbs, roots, and fungi that can be found around NYC. Diwali at Brooklyn Children’s Museum (Crown Heights)
Saturday November 14th various times. Included in Museum admission. Celebrate the South Asian Festival of Lights at BCM with dancing, art-making, and music! Diwali Play Sessions are 90 minutes in length, with timed sessions beginning at 10am, 12:30pm, 3pm and 5pm. Purchase tickets here. Visitors’ tickets are valid for the purchased timed session and future timed sessions tickets must be purchased. All visitors must exit BCM at the end of their Play Session so that the Museum can be cleaned. See the website for information on the health and safety procedures.
Farmhouse Family Day: Marigold Magic at Wyckoff House Museum (East Flatbush)
Saturday November 14th 11a-4p. Free. RSVP here. Explore natural dyes and seed saving with fall flowers at our November Farmhouse Family Day! Festive Fall outdoor activities continue during this month’s Farmhouse Family Day from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.! Families will learn how to make natural dyes from marigolds and how to save seeds from fall flowers with special guest artist Lisa Sikorski. Virtual Fourteenth Annual Brooklyn Children’s Book Fair
Saturday November 14th 11a-2p. This online program is free, but registration is required. Register here. Once you’ve registered, you’ll receive a secure Zoom link and password by email. Watch online as your favorite Brooklyn authors and illustrators share their books during the annual Brooklyn Children’s Book Fair. This free event features six author readings and illustrator presentations, with short presentations by more than thirty-five creators of storybooks, picture books, and graphic novels—including fiction, nonfiction, and poetry—for book lovers from preschool through the middle grades. Little Feet Wise Heart Yoga: Family Mindful Art Yoga
Sundays 11a until November 22nd. $25/class. Please note price reflects one adult and child, any additional child/adult/pet is $5. Join link here and activity access information will be sent by email. Our trademark Mindful Art class- a combination of yoga, art, mindfulness and sweet savasana, or rest time. You and your little one will create a unique artwork together, using materials found at home or in nature. We’ve upped the age to 3 years for this special class with your favorite adult! Please note that this class will run about an hour.. Limited space available, come play! For all families with children from three years and up, runs about one hour.
Rollerwave NYC at Brooklyn Expo (Greenpoint)
Sunday November 15th 11a-7p. Entry fee $10. The first indoor skate party of the Fall! Lets get groovy! Skate rentals are $10 first come first serve. FunikiJam’s “TOTALLY AWESOME” Master Class with Captain Jam

Indoor Exhibits Open at Brooklyn Children’s Museum (Crown Heights)
Museum hours Saturdays-Sundays 10a-7p. Museum admission: $13 per person (children under 1 free). BCM is delighted to have the indoor exhibits open. Make sure you don’t miss a minute of fun by ordering your tickets online in advance and reserving a timed ticket. There are two types of tickets to BCM: Play Session tickets and ColorLab Session tickets. Play Sessions are Saturdays & Sundays at 10a, 1230p, 3p or 5p (90-minute session). Come play in our exhibits! BCM favorite exhibits including Totally Tots, World Brooklyn, Neighborhood Nature, Collections Central and The Nest are open for exploration. For more information on BCM’s exhibits, check out our Permanent Exhibits page. Artmaking in ColorLab are Saturdays & Sundays at 1030a, 130p & 330p. Every weekend, BCM hosts artmaking workshops featuring a muse artist and family art projects inspired by their work. Families attending the 1030a & 1p ColorLab sessions may come up to 30 minutes in advance to play in BCM’s exhibits, and visitors attending the 3p session may stay up to 30 minutes after their workshop. Ice Skating at Winter Village in Bryant Park
Skating hours daily 8a-10p until March 7th. Admission is free. Skating rental vary by day. Reservations must be made in advance. See website for all the information on skating & the shops. Bryant Park is Manhattan’s winter wonderland. Enjoy New York City’s only free admission ice skating rink, the Holiday Shops, and rinkside eats and drinks at The Lodge Deck.
Jack & the Beanstalk at Puppetworks (Park Slope)

Brooklyn Public Library Vitural Storytimes

Spineless Exhibit at The New York Aquarium (Coney Island)
Daily 10a-330p (park closes 430p) until March 2021. Admission included with ticket. All visitors must reserve a date-specific ticket in advance. Please check Know Before You Go for details. We have great news: The New York Aquarium is reopening on August 27! Buy tickets to see all of your favorite marine animals today and enjoy summer on Coney Island! Explore Spineless, our latest exhibit, and marvel and the jellies, octopus, and more. Come wave hello to Erie the sea lion and Murphy the Harbor Seal. Relax in Ocean Wonders: Sharks! and watch the rays, sharks, and turtles.
The Nature of Color Exhibit at American Museum of Natural History (UWS)
Museum is open Wednesdays-Sundays with timed entry tickets are available 10a-4p (museum closes 530p). Exhibit is open until March 8, 2021. Select a General Admission + One or General Admission + All ticket, choose date and time of entry to the Museum, then select The Nature of Color. Reserve tickets here. Our world is awash in color. Color makes the world feel vibrant and alive. But that’s not all. Color helps us make sense of the world. It contains vast amounts of information—about the natural world, and the human world. Come and explore the world of color in this immersive exhibition.
Children’s Museum of Manhattan at Home
CMOM is now open Wednesday-Sunday 10a-5p. CMOM at Home is still ongoing. Activities are sent in a daily email newsletter. CMOM can still be a part of your day through videos, sing-a-longs, games and so much more for you to do together with your family at home! Sign up for emails here. From slime-making, dance parties and being transported to Japan with a recipe for sushi, to making animal puppets from recycled materials around the house, creating a bedtime routine and storytimes, “CMOM at Home” is sure to delight. Each day of the week will feature a different theme: Magical Monday, Move & Grove Tuesday, Our World Wednesday, Artsy Thursday, Feel Good Friday, Storytime Saturday and Surprise Sunday.
