2022 Last Minute Summer Camps

Summer is almost here! If it’s just sinking in that you have not booked enough camp or other activities to keep your kids busy this summer, don’t panic. Camps have been filling up quickly this year as many people emerge from pandemic hibernation, but there are still plenty of camps with availability to keep your kids engaged and having fun and socializing while you enjoy a few peaceful summer moments to yourself… or at least make progress on that never-ending to do list.

Independent Lake Camp

ILC is a co-ed overnight camp in the Pocono Mountains for ages 6-17 offering an impressive array of activities with top-notch facilities and staff- Circus, Flying Trapeze, Sports, Performing Arts, Magic, Skatepark, Digital Arts, RPG, LARPing, Fine Arts, Music, Recording studio,Climbing Wall, Aquatics, Nature, Horseback & more. Join Treasure Trunk Theatre for magical, creative and collaborative fun in camps all across Brooklyn this summer – options for both indoors and outdoors. Campers learn dance choreography, act out stories, work on art projects, and more. Choose from beloved weekly themes that are sure to spark the interest of your unique kiddo. Creatively Wild Art Studio

Creatively Wild’s popular Summer Camp Program begins June 6- Sep 9 and runs Mondays- Fridays with open enrollment all summer long. Our engaging camp experience is offered for two age groups: Kids  (4-8) and Teens (8+) and groups are split into smaller pods. Child’s Play NY

Child’s Play NY summer camps shine a spotlight on kids’ imagination and creativity. Weekly themes tap into what kids love most with specific focuses like superheroes, mythology, Harry Potter, musicals, and more. Sessions culminate in a live or virtual showcase of scenes, songs, and original stories. In addition, the program prioritizes safety with plenty of outside activities, a 1:5 teacher to camper ratio, and small groups. School at the Mark Morris Dance Center

The School at the Mark Morris Dance Center has a few openings left for Summer Camps for ages 10-12, and for week-long workshops for beginner and intermediate/advanced teens. Each session combines daily dance classes in ballet, modern, tap, hip-hop, and jazz with the exploration of other art forms like visual arts, theater, music, and stagecraft inspired by Mark Morris’s repertory. Ages 10-12 / Dates: July 5 – August 12

 

Brooklyn Robot Foundry

IN PERSON + VIRTUAL  (Including Single Day Programs) – In person and virtual summer camps where kids can build cool robots and participate in creativity and engineering activities. In addition to robot-building, kids participate in games, crafts, socializing and movement breaks. Four different themed programs available. Masterminds Chess Camp is coming to Park Slope this Summer, for just one precious week! Our program is curated to be both educational and creative, in order to engage students with a varying range of chess experience. Students will have the opportunity to work with experienced high level coaches, play rated tournament games, build Lego chess sets and design their own chess variant, participate in chess trivia and team puzzle solving competitions, four square and more!. The Geek Forest offers a ton of coding, robotics, art, and science labs options this summer along with their popular online Dungeons & Dragons Summer Camps and the virtual D&D Summer Friday Nites series (Ages 11+ for D&D) / Dates: July 11 –September 2/ Location: Williamsburg / Cost: $650 per week

Textile Arts Center Summer Camp welcomes children ages 5-14 to create within the world of contemporary and historical textiles in exciting week long programs! Each camp week features an in-depth project using fiber & textile techniques, with concepts drawn from textile exhibitions and local textile artists. Ages 5-14 / Dates: July 11 – August 19 / Location: Gowanus

The Brooklyn Strategist. Just by playing games, your kids will take crucial steps forward in critical skills ranging from future planning to problem-solving and yes, even–through interactive play and principles of good sportsmanship–having more fun. You can sign up for the whole week or any individual day(s). Campers will play board games, explore Magic: The Gathering, RPGs, Warhammer and chess.
